Just some important detail edit I did after closely examining the original...
Since my skills have improved, I look at some of my old stuff and I go, "Eww... I can't believe I submitted it like that." or "I can't believe I didn't see that before!" So, did a lot of editing today... as much as I could with no sleep and working with FLAT images and not layers.
If you check out my manips gallery... you will see all the changes.

And, before anyone gets onto me about submitting a piece that's all pseudo-dark art like I was complaining about... I want you all to know that when this picture of me was taken... I was REALLY crying and I was going through a very tough time then... And, the reason my hair is BLACK and not red is because this originally was a black and white photo; I painted it to look as it does now.

I read your excerpt regarding "dark art". I have a bit of dark art in my gallery but each and every piece has a significant meaning for me in that it portrays a "darker" time or two in my life. I understand to a degree about your disdain for dark art, especially when the artist is just following the crowd per se and hasn't really any deeper meaning behind the art itself!
I've tried to look deep within the Artist in whose galleries that I find an abundance of darker art. Unfortunately, a lot of times I find a very sad soul indeed! (Then I try to give em a bit of Love!!
